Spring has Sprung...

and my personal favourite wearable trend is the pajama dressing trend! It was in the collections for S/S 11 as well as S/S 12 (Chloé did a great job in their S/S 11 collection).
It is a comfortable yet wearable trend, here is my version;

shirt-H&M, trousers- Massimo Dutti, Shoes- Forever 21, Sunglasses- a stall at Boardmasters festival, Ring- ASOS.

I have also dip-dyed the ends of my hair pink because I have been wanting to do it for a while, alas, I am lazy so it took a while!

I used food colouring so it isn't permanent! Next time I will be going lilac!
And when I do I will post a little tutoriallll on here for those who want to know how to do it, its very easy! :)

Lots of love,

Fashion & Textiles...

I just did a quick photo shoot with some pieces I made for my Fashion and Textiles project 'The Body Transformed', and although I have a lot of work to get done by this evening for my deadline tomorrow, I wanted to pop them up here, the pieces were inspired by coral, and so subsequently the hair and makeup was inspired by all things aquatic!
They need to be cropped obviously! But just quickly wanted to show them to you!
I have to thank my wonderful friend Sophia from Select for modelling for me!
If she wasn't the model these would never have come out as nicely!
Enjoy:

all of the pieces are constructed purely from masking tape.

Being...

The lame person that I, regrettably, am, as soon as the sun came out I got somewhat over excited about summer and everything that comes with it, primarily in this case, Wimbledon. I love tennis, I go to Wimbledon every year, and for some reason I just wanted to plan my outfit for Wimbledon at that very moment. I refrained, but it did get me thinking about transitional Spring outfits. I went shopping and threw this together and thought that it could carry me through from Wintery weather to Spring.

Blouse & Trousers; Massimo Dutti, Blazer; Topshop, Necklace; Rokit

Just thought I'd do a quick outfit post as I have not done an outfit post, or ANY post for that matter, in a very long time.
Its kind of vile, but if my hair was done and I had makeup on, I think it could workkkk!

Hope everyones well,
Lots of Love,

Haven't...

Posted in a while, and feel like a terrible excuse for a fashion blogger seeing as LFW has been and gone and I have not written any posts relating to it. Mostly because I am sad that I could not be there like so many other bloggers. BUT I have been following online,
I will post about everything after I have had my assessment for my Art course in March, but until then I will leave you with this;

Lots of Love!

Just made a...

Rather large purchase from ASOS, 3 bags full in fact...
BUT the one thing I loved most was the rings I got, which ironically were purchased to bump up the price of the order a few pounds so I could get free next day delivery (genius).
I have been eyeing one up for a long time, deciding wether I should commit to buying it, and yesterday was my perfect chance to realise my dream... haha
and here it is;

I have to say I really do love it, its huge and changes colour as you move it, what more could you want in a ring!
My next purchase was a pack of three plain thick gold band rings, I have to admit, with regret, that I was inspired by Rosie  Fortescue.
I couldn't help but love her signature three ring thing, so I indulged:

So that is it for rings for today, but I may pop some other photos up of my purchases soon!

SAPE (Société des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Élégantes)...

The most amazing society ever from Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo.
These men are amongst some of the most inventive and stylish people, and the contrast between them and their society is so vast, making them truly fascinating.

Vera Wang...

S/S 2012 Ready to wear... I AM DYING. I love this collection, obviously this was showcased in the fashion weeks during September- November last year, but I have only just seen it. (?!?)
I never really thought I loved Vera Wang, but this collection has to be one of my favourites for s/s 12:

Her collection encompasses all of my favourite colours for the season, beautiful creams and whites, bright acid yellows mint greens, charcoal greys, baby pink, fuchsia and royal blue.
The tailoring and structure of the garments is also stunning, the contrast of highly structural elements and flowing, slouchy chiffon..
Perfection.
If only I was a billionaire, this would be my wardrobe for spring summer 12.

Sunglasses..

Are the best, I have too many already, but just looking at ASOS made me remember that you can never have enough.
Sunglasses can change a whole outfit instantaneously, I can't stress enough how much I love them.
They can be very bold to help pick a dull outfit up, and if they are attracting too much attention, they can easily be taken off and out into a bag. Piratical perfection.

About to...

Start and essay for Art (vom).
I have to compare two artists work, so I have chosen the lovely Uta Barth and Tim Walker.
They are both photographers which I love dearly!
I thought I would rummage through their archives for some inspiration, maybe you could use some inspiration too...

Nottingham Calling...

Finally we escaped the town of Loughborough today, moving on from 23 pound shops and a 10ft x 10ft Topshop to a bigger and better city for a day, Nottingham. It has to be said, Loughborough is not a town for avid shoppers, so naturally I was delighted to escape its grasps and visit a real City.
Growing up on the outskirts of London you tend to take for granted the fashion and culture which is so close to you, I was used to popping into town and looking around all the titanic flagship stores in London, and finding quirky independent boutiques and cafes, so when I moved to little old Loughborough in the East Midlands it was quite the culture shock.
I am now so behind with all the trends because, frankly, it is extremely hard to look at the new season stock when there are hardly any shops to showcase it. I am left like a social recluse online shopping in my room.
Anyhow, today I got to see the new Topshop S/S 12 stock in REAL LIFE!
I have got to say I have not been so inspired in a long time, I absolutely love the pastel/ fluro trend, and also the slouchy pyjama tailoring.
I tried on a couple of dresses which I adored! Alas, they were £85 & £95 by Topshop Boutique, which I thought was stretching my budget for such simple pieces, although the silhouettes are delicate and rather beautiful;

The pastel colours were also perfect for spring and they could be accessorised with fluro-trimmed statement necklaces, bright lipstick and stacked heels, or dressed up with a huge fur coat, massive cocktail rings and litas for a bit of 1920's glamour and recycled forever, but, being a student, I don't have that kind of cash!
I really wish I could have styled the SS 12 collection for Topshop, I would have gone wild, it would have been beautiful!
Disappointingly I did not part with my cash for any of the new season offerings, I did however make a sale purchase of some rather hideous wide leg trousers;

(sorry about the terrible quality).
I know a lot of people will think they're vile, and I do a bit, but I sort of like them!
This is a ridiculously comfortable outfit, very slouchy tailoring, and I secretly love the colour of the trousers. I think I will leave this outfit to wear once i'm back in London and feeling courageous.

I also brought some nail varnishes from H&M in various hues of blue;

And that is is, from the evidence it looks like a rather unsuccessful shopping expedition, but I had a lovely day and really enjoyed looking around shops that we are deprived of here in Loughborough, I also had a wonderful breakfast at Queenies Bakehouse, I will leave you with some photos;

P.S.
As this is my first 'proper' attempt of blogging from Loughborough and there aren't many scenic backdrops for outfit of the days (and I do an art foundation, so most days I wear things that I won't cry over if paint is spilt of them) I am trying to work out a way to get some photos of my more thought about outfits. I also need to remind myself to take more photos to post! So please excuse my recent, rather lacklustre, posts. I am working on it!

Lots of Love
